When I retired as a humanist celebrant I thought I'd stop writing this blog, but my fascination with all things death-related prompted more posts. They're just written from a slightly different perspective, that's all. Oh, and I still do the odd one, by special request.

A peaceful death

Actor Richard E Grant's account of the death of his wife Joan is lovely. She died at home, with him beside her, holding her hand, after he noticed it getting colder. His description of those last few moments of life will be familiar to many. Noise or fuss shouldn't intrude.

It's the sort of death that most of us wish for, when our time comes.

Read or listen to it here.
